Step 1: Submit a Make My Move Standardized Application

By clicking “Apply Now,” you’ll be prompted to share information about yourself and your business. After submitting your application, a “Get Started” button will appear, along with a notification highlighting any incomplete tasks that need your attention.

This is a generic application for the Make My Move platform. The Founder Forward specific application will be available after you complete this platform step.

FAQ: If you live in Michigan already, you still need to fill out this application. When it asks about your move, just select the closest answer.

Applications are open through November 30, 2025.

Step 2: Review & Complete Your Tasks

Click “Get Started” to open a page displaying all tasks and the status of your application for this program, OR visit your applicant profile to view outstanding tasks, along with all programs you’ve expressed interest in, including this demo profile. During the application process, you will receive automated emails reminding you of any next steps to keep your application on track.

Step 3: Complete Founder Forward Form

You can find this form in the same section where you view your application status. The Founder Forward Form focuses on startup-related questions. Be sure to upload any required supporting documents found directly below the form either before or after completing it.

This is the core application for the program.

Once all tasks are complete and the necessary documentation is submitted, applicants can continue to check Make My Move for updates on their application status and consideration for the 2026 Fellowship.

Step 4: Interview

You will be interviewed by a program team member to assess fit and eligibility for the program. Scheduling will occur once you complete your application, and interviews will be conducted by December 20th.

Step 5: Acceptance

Once you are accepted, you will receive information on starting the program!
