About Merlinda-Loriane
Merlinda-Loriane Sewavi is a translational molecular systems engineer with a cross-disciplinary foundation spanning human biology, microbiology, and chemical biology. A graduate of Michigan State University’s Honors College with dual B.S. degrees and minors in Health Promotion and Bioethics, she later earned her M.S. in Chemical Biology of Cancer from the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor, where she was both a Rackham Merit Fellow and a National GEM Consortium Fellow. Her research career includes appointments at the Institute for Quantitative Health Science & Engineering (IQ), Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, and Stanford University, where she served as a founding engineer on a federally funded ARPA-H cardiac moonshot. Merlinda’s work integrates iPSC engineering, multi-omic assay development, and high-fidelity cardiac modeling. She now channels her expertise into building next-generation infrastructure for clinically aligned drug safety and disease insight.
About Syntheia Labs
